I saw Jesus today…

In life, many are often overwhelmed by hatred, indifference, and the godlessness in society today.

Many people ask, “Where is God? In all this evil, where is God and His love amidst all of this?”

In this world, we can choose to define our joy by our circumstances or we can look beyond this trials and see God at work through it all. I offer these words of a few moments recently where I felt God spoke to my heart:

I saw Jesus today…
Though it seemed no one else noticed, I saw Him still…

I saw Jesus today..
When a woman went out of her way to give a hug that others chose to ignore…

I saw Jesus today…
When a little girl danced beautifully across a stage as her grandparents cheered from the seats while her parents gave her a standing ovation from heaven…

I saw Jesus today…
While in a crowded restaurant when no one chose to recognize our uniformed military having a meal; one person took the time to thank them for their service…

I saw Jesus today…
When a family facing cancer, shared their story with others and their faith encouraged countless others…

I saw Jesus today…
When everyone else drove by a homeless man in the snow when someone stopped & offered him food…

I saw Jesus today…
When God took the pain and brokenness of our past and used it for His glory…

I saw Jesus today…
When a dead man’s pulse returned after CPR and he began to breathe again on his own…

I saw Jesus today…
When I drove through hundreds of miles of ice covered roads and arrived safely at my destination…

I saw Jesus today…
When a sermon was given to the heart of an obedient servant at just the right time…

I saw Jesus today…
When a firefighter shared how a close call shook him but they all returned home safe…

I saw Jesus today…
In the face of tragedy and hopelessness; when others chose to offer comfort and the gift of their presence…

When the darkness of this world closes in all around us…
When the news reports lies, deceit, tragedies, and fear…
When everyone around us belittles, betrays, and walks away from the truth…

We can smile and offer words of encouragement like no other…
Because we can: “fix our eyes on Jesus, faiths pioneer & perfecter. He endured the cross, ignoring it’s shame, for the sake of the joy that was laid out in front of Him…” (Hebrews 12:2).

When the world can no longer see, take their hand and show them who we see. And let Him open their eyes!

God bless,
