Never Alone

Never Alone:
How many times have we let the pain of our past inhabit out present thereby destroying our future?
We are given an amazing gift called forgiveness, yet we often forget that we are free. We wander back into our prison cell, lock the door, and despair over our past; yet all the while we hold the key.
Someone had already paid our debt, given testimony on our behalf, suffered and died for our sake. We no longer should dwell where God has paid so great a price for us to be free.
We have one who we can goto who understands:

‘Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted,’ Hebrews 2:14-18

When we struggle with demons of our past…
When we suffer in silence yet appear strong to others…
When we carry an unspoken inner torment day by day…
When we who believe fall upon our knees in brokenness unable to stand…
We then lift our hearts to Jesus as we remember…
‘So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.’ 2 Corinthians 12:10
Our weaknesses and struggles drive out the arrogance of self sufficiency and we fall upon the cross. We remember why we need Jesus. When we realize our weakness we begin to draw on His unlimited strength.
Without Him, we cannot stand in the face of persecution, suffering, and loneliness.
For we know that Jesus is our true source of strength and if we are to endure we must abide in Him.
So let us fix our eyes upon Him, the author and perfecter of our faith, surround ourselves with Faithful followers who lift us up and remember:
We are called:
‘For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example,so that you should follow in His steps…. 1 Peter 2:21
Our sins have been placed upon Him:
‘He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree,so that, having died to sins,we might live for righteousness; you have been healed by His wounds.’ 1 Peter 2:24
We are healed:
‘But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities;punishment for our peace was on Him,and we are healed by His wounds.’ Isaiah 53:5
We remember that He has bore every burden and knows our pain intimately. Because of Jesus, we can come boldly to God with our brokenness and He will heal us and ‘carry our burdens.’
Therefore if we feel the inner torment of self accusation, if the past haunts our present destroying our future, and if the demons we face seem to be closing in; Cry out to God and:
‘Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.’ James 4:7-8
For God says ‘Before they call I will answer, while they are yet speaking I will hear’ Isaiah 65:24
And we “can do all things through Christ who strengthens” us (Philippians 4:13)
Let us lean hard on God’s understanding and reach out to our brothers & sisters in need. Pray, read God’s word, lift up one another and know that we stand in the face of adversity because the strong hands of Jesus who bore the cross are lifting us up.
God Bless,
