By Brother Stone: Be-Attitude #4 Be-Enthusiastic!
In the previous three Be-Attitudes we have been building on what characteristics or attitudes are found in one who practices true brotherhood. Be-Attitude #4 is a defining characteristic of one who is a firefighter versus one who is an employee. It is about being into the job; or simply stated “It is one who is genuinely sincere, passionate, and authentic about their calling.
We must find what it is that excites us and pursue it, teach it, and share it. It is an all-consuming fire that is a part of us. This is our niche.
Others will try to discourage us but let us not put any value in their opinions. We must strive to be the individual that helps make the job fun (especially when we find ourselves idle).
What is Enthusiastic?
“ENTHUSIASTIC(defined) – having or showing intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval”.
Take a moment and know that it is ok to be ‘into the job.’ It’s Always remember “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Let us be who we are called to be and inspire others with our enthusiasm for the job. It is a spark that creates a fire in the hearts of those around us.
Keep the fires of brotherhood burning through our enthusiasm!
